I believe we all go through struggles and experiences in life where we may need support to rise above them. If you feel overwhelmed, perhaps I could hold the space for you to find the steps, opportunities, or solutions to overcome the obstacles you face.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked with children and youth within the school system and the community. My current role as a School Counsellor allows me to support my students to ensure they have a valuable, inclusive educational experience. My previous role as an Integration Support Teacher allowed me to work alongside students, families, school teams and community partners to support children with neurodiverse needs such as autism, FASD, and ADHD.
In my sessions with clients, I want to establish a foundation of trust and respect and provide a positive and safe environment so we can unpack some of the problems or experiences they struggle with. I use a trauma-informed approach and apply a variety of therapeutic modalities to form a treatment plan that addresses my client’s needs, such as EMDR, Neurofeedback, CBT, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, and a Person-Centered approach. I may use Play Therapy techniques with children that help build a positive connection and allow them the time and space to process the emotions when they can’t find the words.
I support children, youth and adults who struggle with some of the following concerns: anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationships, self-esteem, grief and loss, and life or cultural transitions.
I would be deeply honoured to work alongside you to help you find your road to healing and recovery.
